Though small, this gem of a neighborhood boasts countless events, sights, and landmarks. Leimert Park Plaza serves as the community's epicenter, where residents gather daily to socialize, support, and celebrate Black culture.
Each year, the neighborhood welcomes Martin Luther King Parade into town, a practice that has been going on for decades. The event commemorates the life and time of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, a great American icon. You can catch a glimpse of spectacular views of the parade, attend a poetry reading, catch a commemorative performance, or participate in community service.
If you want to learn new dance moves, Debbie Allen Dance Academy offers comprehensive dance classes to students aged four and up. The studio uses dance and theatre training and performances to enrich, inspire, and transform the lives of its students.
